Our Ethos and Aims: a Welcome from the Head teacher

As Headteacher of Bedmond Nursery and Primary School it is both a pleasure and a privilege to welcome you to our website. I hope the information you find here gives you a flavour of our school. We have a lot to be proud of at Bedmond: our school is a happy, stimulating and caring place with high expectations for and of our children.

Though we are a small primary school, we have huge ambitions for each and every one of our children. At the heart of everything we do is the drive to promote a love of learning within a safe and happy environment, where children are motivated to succeed and become the best that they can be. We want all of our children to feel confident in their successes and ever-ready to embrace challenge. We are passionate about learning, and our caring staff are dedicated to providing the best possible progress for every learner.

This mission is summed-up by our school’s ‘IDEAL’ motto:

Inspires pupils to take an active part in the team
Discovers new and exciting opportunities
Enjoys learning using the best quality teaching approaches
Achieves their full potential
Learning encouraged which will last a lifetime.

In order to achieve this, we believe that working in partnership with parents, carers, governors, and our local area is crucial, and we always seek ways in which we can work with our school community in order to help children develop and enrich their learning. We work and learn together with you, going that extra mile to help make families’ lives better and brighter.

At Bedmond, we are passionate about helping children feel confident to express their individuality and talents, where they know that success in any aspect of their lives will be rewarded and celebrated. We know and appreciate that children have one chance in their education, and that it is our responsibility and privilege to make their learning journey the best it can be, preparing them, not only academically for the next stage of their learning, but as independent, inquisitive, motivated learners, who are confident in making a valued contribution to our society. I would be pleased to show you around Bedmond, so you can experience our friendly atmosphere, meet staff and have the opportunity to see our aims in action. Please phone or email for an appointment to visit.

In the meantime, we look forward to working in partnership with you to help your child reach their full potential. We are a team, and I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to team Bedmond!
